Chocolate Lily
Copyright Barbara Samuelson 1999
The Chocolate Lily (Fritillaria camschatcensis) is found in
damp woodlands and meadows throughout Southeastern, Southcentral Alaska,
and the Aleutian Chain. Due to it's unpleasant odor, it has been nicknamed
the Skunk Lily and Outhouse Lily. The smell attracts flys which are the
primary pollinators for this plant.
