Double-Crested Cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus). 30-36",
it may be distinquished from other cormorants by its orange-yellow throat
pouch. Its habitat includes coasts, bays, lakes, rivers; nests in colonies
on sea cliffs, or in trees on lake margins. This male was diving and
feeding at Lake Merritt, Oakland, California.
